“I have never actually seen a ghost and I am an open minded skeptic about paranormal things but I have a friend who owns a pub (THE DOLPHIN) and it is regarded widely as one of the most haunted pubs in England. I had cause to stay there for a few weeks in the summer and i found it to be quite freaky but very exciting I was the only guest on the top floor and I kept hearing children giggling and running in the corridor. I was assured that there were no children in residence apart from one of the ghosts. I have been told of other ghosts in the place but not experienced them....yet!! but the place has a very strange feel to it, i always felt i was in company, even though i wasnt. weird eh?”

Being Rude
Not thanking the venue owner or manager is a bad thing to do and could impact on your investigation, and also the subsequent investigation attempts of other groups. Always remember to thank everybody involved.
Not Applying A Cultural Context To The Possibility Of A Ghost
When researching the spirit activity of a location, make thorough notes of the time period in which they were alive. This will allow you better communication with the spirit. For example, speaking to a Roman Soldier in normal English could be a great to communicate, and may yield positive results. But speaking to them in their native language – could yield even better ones.
Not Researching
It is strongly recommended that you conduct research into the location, as you may uncover more than you bargained for during the investigation. This would tie directly into point 2, and would allow you to apply cultural context to the spirit or possibility of a spirit.
Not Everything Is Paranormal
Only when no other explanation for phenomena can be given, can evidence be put forward of Paranormal activity.
Just Watching The Video Footage and Not Listening
It is highly recommended that you watch each video of your Paranormal Investigation a number of times, as you may pick up more the second, third or even fourth time you view it. Pay close attention to the sound in your video, and try to ignore any background noise. Make sure you are aware of any noises that could be explained easily.
Having Teams Made Up Of A Single Sex
Try to mix up the sexes in your team. By having an all male, or all female team, you could miss out on the opportunity to capture phenomena at work
Taking Everything Too Seriously!
Investigating the Paranormal can be an arduous, and often unrewarding affair. You can quickly get into a focused frame of mind and miss vital evidence. By taking breaks, and relaxing with your team mates you allow yourself to calm down, and approach different areas of your location with a refreshed attitude. iable you will be carrying a lot of expensive equipment that can easily be sold. Let people know where you will be, and keep a mobile phone with you at all times … nothing is worth more than your personal safety
Never Re-Use Cassettes
Never re-use audio or video cassettes if you have used them during your investigation. This may make the prospect of investigating the Paranormal a more expensive one, but by doing so, this eliminates the chances of evidence which may be a result of a re-used tape. We recommend using DVD Camcorders, or those that record direct to flash cards. These can wiped and formatted, and therefore you eliminate any possibility of the above.
Not Listening To Suggestions Of Your Team Members / Venue Owners
Just because you can not explain the phenomena you are catching, doesn’t mean somebody else can not. Be open to listening to points of view from your group, and also the venue owners – after all they know the location better than anybody.
Going To Locations Alone
Never, Never, Never attend an investigation alone. It has been known for people to lie in wait for Paranormal investigators. they often carry expensive equipment.

THINGS A GOOD INVESTIGATION TEAM ALWAYS DO
|
|
|
 |
 |
|
Conduct A Preliminary Investigation & Analysis
As mentioned in our Preliminary Visit section, conducting a visit prior to your investigation will garnish better results.
Always Carry Some Form Of Identification
It has been known, and is not uncommon for Paranormal Investigators to be questioned by the police, villagers and local authorities during their investigations. We would also recommend that you have express permission (if needed) to conduct your investigation, and keep the documentation with you during your investigation.
Conduct Your Investigation Between 10 pm and 5 am
It may sound a bizarre tip, but it is recommended that you conduct your investigation between these times due to the common fact that most ghosts are seen at night, and most people die during their sleep.
Not Everything Is Paranormal
Only when no other explanation for phenomena can be given, can evidence be put forward of Paranormal activity.
Never Wear Perfume or Aftershave During An Investigation
It is not uncommon for Paranormal Investigation groups to smell strange aromas during their investigations. By not wearing perfume or aftershave you are eliminating the possibility of false evidence arriving.
Always Be Respectful
Paranormal Investigation teams that gain access into haunted locations are very lucky. And it is always a good idea if you are very respectful of the location. Please remember to clean up after yourselves, as it has been known for locations to ban any more Investigations because of the actions of some groups. Another important point to make is that of being respectful to the dead. “Ghost Baiting” is becoming increasingly common as a way to communicate, and is not a preferred method of objective investigation. “Ghost Baiting” is where you deride the possibility of a spirit, swear or use other profane language or move objects that are revered in the location LIGHT will never do this
Remain Objective During Your Investigation
The basis of an objective investigation, is that of questioning possible phenomena before you decide it is of a Paranormal nature. This includes getting professionals to look at photographs, allowing different people to view the evidence. Only when there can be no other explanation for the phenomena can it be deemed as Paranormal.
Be Aware Of The Amount Of Work Involved
Paranormal Investigation is not only attending the investigation itself, but trudging through hour upon hour of locked off camera footage. On a normal investigation we obtain around 15 to 20 hours of footage, and each second has to be analyzed.
Always Take More Batteries Than You Can Possibly Need
It has been known that Paranormal Investigation has ceased to function during the investigation itself. The common school of thought is that spirits or ghosts drain the energy of batteries
his topic is that if there are any spirits present, then they are draining the power to try and respond to any
